Decor Changes

When I did The Big Move series, I often wrote about how things were likely going to change as we got settled in our new apartment. While it’s always nice to get everything out of boxes and into your new space, sometimes finding exactly how you’d like to place these things takes a bit longer.

To illustrate this point, I wanted to show a few examples of how my closet and design choices have changed from the first month or so living in our apartment.

Closet 1 first shown like this, but now it looks like this:

Highlights: Swapped arrangement of jeans and sweatshirts, since the shelf where the sweatshirts previously were is longer. Added bins up top to house some more seasonal clothing.

Closet 2 first shown like this, but now it looks like this:

Highlights: Embellished vanity and added an adorable stool. Got rid of hanging shelf for sweaters and moved them to the stop shelf, so my jackets could extend the full length of the rod. My boots were moved to the top of the closet – a bit harder to reach, yes, but that’s what my stool is for!

Dining room first shown like this, but now it looks like this:

Highlights: Added photograph and more crystal china to the glass cabinet.

Kitchen first shown like this, but now it looks like this:

Highlights: Added artwork to make it feel more homey.

Living room first shown like this, but now it looks like this:

Highlights: New throw pillows make the couch look more welcoming. A beautiful coffee table atop a golden cowhide brings the room together, plus a touch of nature with fresh flowers.
