Much like any household chore, at first thought, putting away groceries can be pretty mindless and boring. Put on your favorite album – at the moment, mine is Sylvan Esso – and put everything away one by one.
While this may be true for the most part, there are definitely ways you can make the process more streamlined. This way, it won’t seem quite as mindless. Intrigued? Yeah you are! Here’s how:
First you’ll want to lay out all of your groceries on a countertop or a kitchen table. Since my kitchen is rather small, I like using my big dining table. Next, I separate out the items I bought by where they’ll go in my kitchen – typically it’s either the freezer, fridge or pantry. Sometimes it is also our storage area where I keep things like extra toilet paper, laundry detergent, and the like.
Now that everything is separated by area in the kitchen, you can put things away in one swoop. One pit stop at the freezer, then the fridge, and finally the pantry.
So what do you say? Are you willing to test out this method next time you’re unloading a big grocery store run?
