In order to stay inspired, I like to surround myself with a variety of creative outlets that keep me on my toes and keep me thinking. While little things like fresh flowers in the home can keep me feeling happy, I need substantive outlets to really keep me inspired. Here’s what I rely on each week.
Books: Since my commute to and from work each day is about 1.5 hours, I have some time to dive into a book. And, even if I don’t get around to reading it one day, I still like its presence in my bag. Which book I opt for really depends on my mood , but I’ve been known to read anything from a book on mindfulness and yoga to one about blogging best practices and finally to one about Paris.
Music: When I really want to focus at work, I put my big Beat’s by Dre headphones in and just let the music shut out all outside stimuli. Check out my songs of the month to find some of my favorites.
Blogs: A morning would not be complete without checking a variety of fashion and lifestyle blogs. Some of my favorites are Cupcakes and Cashmere, Sincerely Jules, Almost Makes Perfect, and Design Love Fest.
