Bay Area Exploring: Angel Island

first-image

There’s nothing I love quite as much as a good weekend getaway in your own city–no flights, no missing home, no worries. The other weekend, Will and I decided to wake up early and drive out to Tiburon, where we caught the ferry to Angel Island.

Neither of us had ever been to Angel Island before and were totally fascinated by its history (it used to be an immigration station) & panoramic views of the Bay.

My Laundry Routine

first-image

It’s no secret that I love doing laundry, and I’ve even written about tips to making it more fun. Even though it can be a big chore on your to-do list each week, in my opinion there’s no better feeling than an empty hamper and a closet full of all your favorite clean clothes.

Because I do laundry about twice a week–once for darks and once for lights–and wash both my and my boyfriend’s clothes, it was super important to me to find a detergent that complimented both of us. I was searching for something with a light, gender neutral smell and ingredients that wouldn’t wear out our clothes.

One day as I was perusing the aisles of Whole Foods, I stumbled across Ecover’s lavender field laundry detergent and immediately loved the smell. I’ve now been using it for a few weeks and am super pleased with the results, so it might just stick around for a while.

Entertaining Tips: Girls’ Night Edition

first-image

Last week, I shared this little peek into the girls’ night I hosted, and now I’m back to share the full scoop.

“What’s girls’ night?”, you may be asking yourself. Well, in my book, it’s a night involving the girliest of items–from face masks and nail polish to rosé and macarons. I invited all of my closest girlfriends over, stocked the fridge with wine, and set out the prettiest flowers I could find.

Here’s a look into all of the details:

One last look because it was just so pretty.

Bay Area Exploring: Half Moon Bay

First Image

Let me start my saying that Half Moon Bay may be my new favorite vacation destination. It is the most charming little town with everything you could need in just about three blocks.

A few weeks back, my friend and I were craving a visit to the ocean so we packed the car and headed down the coast. Half Moon Bay is great for all San Francisco dwellers because it’s only about an hour outside of the city, sitting just above Santa Cruz on the map. While we spent the majority of the day working on our tans, we were able to eat some seafood, do a wine tasting, and visit the Ritz-Carlton. IMG_3016 IMG_3073IMG_3017 IMG_3050 IMG_3051 IMG_3076

Remember when I said Fall was my favorite season? That’s likely because Thanksgiving happens during Fall and well, there’s nothing better than Thanksgiving. Just looking at these images makes me so excited for all that’s to come in the next few weeks. From pies, pinecones, and pumpkins to family, friends, and foliage, I am beyond excited and just can’t hide it.
